I was diagnosed in April, have had surgery and met oncologist. Cancer was agressive and advanced oestrogen positive with multiple lymph nodes affected. Have started hormone therapy, waiting for radiotherapy after which CDK46 will be prescribed. Chemotherapy discussed but not started currently
Have been told there is a high probability of recurrence but this cannot be guaranteed or put into timeframe.
I’m quite content with treatment plan but cant get my head round the idea of unpredictable future and am overthinking everything. Anyone got any coping tactics or is it something you do get to come to terms with.
Hi, im in a similar position to yourself in that I probably have a high risk of recurrence. I’m struggling with fatigue after radiotherapy, even though it finished weeks ago, and have struggled with hormone therapy, so taking a pause from that at present. Mentally it’s proving a challenge, as I feel like a shell of the person I was. I’ve reached out for therapy support. I know some Maggies centres have a psychologist you can talk to. Also trained nurses who can be a good sounding board x
Thank you @pippad, thats kind of you. I’m hoping I’ll start to feel better soon. Its not always easy to find the right support, but wishing you lots of luck with that and on-going treatment. Sending hugs xx
