Fatigue

Hi Sandra, the fatigue is really getting me down I dint feel like doing anything I’m in 1800 mg twice a day because the oncologist said my tumour has seen improvement he didn’t want to reduce the dose and to persevere but it’s hard, I too haven’t been sick but have feeling of nausea at times nit eating much either. Can’t wait for end of this cycle.see oncologist on 22 nd.its depressing isn’t it I know it’s a good sign chemo is working when you see improvement, feel you have nothing to look forward too except end of cycle and that last tablet. For a week anyway.hard trying to stay positive hugs xxx

Hiya Angela
Hang on there with the chemo if you can …it’s doing its job …we are all holding your hand through this .

Hi Angela, I knw its not easy trying to stay positive especially when it so cold and horrible outside, but try and find little things that you can appreciate and enjoy. I was watching a cheeky squirrel working out how to get the nuts out of the bird feeder yesterday, he was hanging by his feet to reach it and looked so funny it made me smile.

Do you have family or friends who can help out and support you, when you are feeling ok talk to them and let them know how they can help! I know it is tough for them, my husband is good but he often finds it hard especially when I am down and often I expect him to know what I want without me telling him!  I have tried to stock up my cupboards with easy meals that he can prepare as he is not into cooking. My kids are all grown up and live a few hours away, but they are trying to make sure they that they visit every month or so.

Hopefully the chemo will get easier as your body adjusts, and when the weather improves i’m sure we will all feel more positive.

Sending hugs Sandra x

Hi  Angela,

yes, I agree with the others…and it may be that your onc wants to just check its workng really well before thinking of a reduction.

However, it IS a really high dose and if you are feeling more down than up, then it might be worth telling him how you do feel again.  The other thing is, take a friend/advocate in with you to take notes and to fight your corner if need be. Im sure he has a goal in mind for your care, but he may not realise exactly how you are feeling…they usually try to make sure you can tolerate the drug…otherwise people can give up and noone wants thstxxx

hugs, Moijan???
