@anncuk oh gosh, that sounds awful. I’m 7 weeks out of finishing chemo and so far my nails have been fine, no discoloration or lifting (touches wood). I hope it stays that way

@trixie17 I am also 7 weeks out of chemo, I finished radiation on Monday so still waiting for my skin to react more.
I too will be having hormone therapy which I find out on Monday at my oncologist appointment. Im very nervous about it all as due to be going back to work in 3 weeks.
Will take alook at the positive stories but not sure which one I will go on as no blood tests have been done ahead of my appointment so Im assuming maybe tamoxifen whilst they figure things out as my periods stopped during chemo so he hasnt confirmed if im post menapausal x

Hairs coming back in too, however i Feel like I’m leaving the cool Sinead O’Connor phase and entering the Oor Wullie phase

@vizsla_mum Great to hear you’ve nearly finished radiotherapy. How did you find it? I start mine next week. Not looking forward to it (I’m really claustrophobic) but I’m only having five sessions so shouldn’t be too bad.
Glad to hear your hair’s coming back. I’ve got a fairly even coverage of about a centimetre apart from the top left side which is a little shorter. Still, at least it’s growing. My eyebrows and eyelashes were hanging on but have been coming out quite a bit this week 
. I thought I’d got away with it but no such luck

Hi @debs5, I found Radiotherapy a skoosh compared with chemo. Biggest issue for me was getting to the hospital which was over an hour away from my house.
And today half the bloody trains were cancelled! But hey ho…..it was the last one. X

Two weeks post surgery and I’ve had the drain removed. The pain is beginning to ease and I can move around more. My hair is growing too!

I’m sorry to hear about all the extra troubles you’re facing. Wanted to chime in, my anxiety has been off the charts since starting EC. Wasn’t so bad on Paclitaxil. But now I have panicked attacks and I’ve had anxiety for most of my life but this is next level. I hope it eases for you. Try getting the app headspace, it does help a bit!

Glad to see so many positive messages ladies. I don’t post often but thought I’d pop in. I’ve got one last chemo cycle in 3 weeks, after 4 x paclitaxil and 3 of EC done, then surgery then radiotherapy. I had PC then EC and am losing my hair quickly now, the cold cap worked wonders for the first few months. The oncologist said 5 sessions of radiotherapy but I feel like they say these minimum amounts when they actually know it will be more… has anyone only had 5 sessions? No idea what to expect but did read about the creams and the fatigue peaking a few weeks after.
I don’t know how life is ever going to feel normal again after all this you know? Sending lots of love to you all x

Hi @rayofhope6 - good to hear you are powering through your treatment. I am only today feeling that I have turned a corner, 4 weeks post surgery as I had zero seroma in my armpit which had to be drained 3 times and was very painful. I did have fab pathology results though post surgery, no cancer found in tumour or lymph nodes so I have just got 5 rounds of radiotherapy, I have my CT scan on Monday. I had a 5 min consult with my oncologist last week (he was running behind 90 mins). Told I would need to take letrazole for 5-10 years, plus a further 12 months of herceptin injections. He has requested a bone density scan. I collected my prescription and the bag contained: Anastrozole plus megestrol acetate which he didn’t mention? I spoke to my oncology nurse and she said the megestrol was just in case I had severe hot flushes?? Will have to do some research. Take care and thinking of you over the coming weeks.x

That must have been such a relief. I think you have the same diagnosis as me - triple positive, Grade 2? My original tumour was 25mm. Shrunk to 13mm after 2 cycles of TCHP but plateaued after 4 cycles. I had cycle 5 last week. My oncologist is giving me the impression that I’m unlikely to achieve a complete response due to being highly oestrogen positive (ER8/PR8) So its good hear of someone with a similar diagnosis who did. Wishing you all best for your ongoing treatment.
Hi @alpacagirl - I am HER2 positive and ER positive (8/8 100%). Mine was Grade 2 and started off at 43mm, I think it shrunk to 24mm after 4 rounds, the tumour bed removed was 40mm. I had an ultrasound and contrast mammogram after the final cycle and there was no evidence of tgd cancer showing. Crossing fingers that the same will be the case for you. I too started Antrozole this week so seeing how it goes. Havent had to have overian suppression as bloods have come back that I am menapausal 
How are you finding the hormone tabket so far x
Hi Sammy @sammy75 - I am on day 5 of the hormone tablet, a few hit flushes but crossing fingers no other side effects as yet. How are you getting on? Xx
So good about the results, that must have been a huge relief. I’m not sure what sort of meds I’ll be on as mine is triple negative so don’t know if they use hormone therapy post treatment. I hope the meds agree with you and that things settle! Well done on getting through the op and the drainage procedure, you’ve got this!

… unfortunately for us TN ladies, we will not have any meds post-finalisation of treatment as our cancer is negative for all hormones, so hormone therapy is pointless in that it will do absolutely nothing hence the harsh treatment regime to try and rid us of the cancer
