Feeling devasted about my arm

Hi Bahon,

we are defo following each other - just commented on your thread of jobs. As for the farting i can’t stop and i feel i need to be in a musical orchestra with my ass in the air. They just come out big big loud ones - walking up the stairs, going to sit down, and now when i even do the school run on foot i trump loudly and don’t care any more on the way and the best is the kids just accept it. The best or the worst is when i’m in bed because if i lift the duvet the smell its enough to knock you out.

Fiz - glad your feeling better and so glad you started the thread as the advise has been such a help in a time of distress and pain.

Hi Sukes - forgive me if I’ve missed something, but what’s the reason behind all the farting?

It’s great that your children are cool with it. Do you have competitions with them?

when in the states last month, i went and saw a specialist, she said i had lymphodemia tho i can’t really tell it is much larger than the good arm… i do know that when i wake up in the morning my arm is all creased from covers, etc. and that tells me there is fluid present. i have a nice sleeve much lighter wt than the one i got thru nhs…and has silicon dots at top to keep it from shifting. the one i got from here didn’t fit properly so i got one there that is one size in forearm and larger size for top of arm. i only wear it on flights but wondering if i should wear it more often? my area under the arm looks much bigger than the other one but the rest looks normal. what warrants “lymphodemia” in size? it really worries me… i can’t stand the thought of going thru anything else… i am always worrying about my health…wish i could…
my end of chemo was middle of january, mast. and 20 nodes removed last of feb., finished rads middle may, and currently on herceptin. any info u can pass on would be soooo appreciated.
best wishes,
lee xx

Hi Lee

I am writing to let you know that BCC have published a leaflet on Lymphoedema which you may find helpful to read, I have posted the link below for you. You can either download it or order a free copy on line. The helpline staff are also available for you to have a chat about this if you think it may help. (Tel: 0808 800 6000)

Hi Lee

I’ve got some nice lightweight sleeves, too, via Haddenham Healthcare, a UK firm. Had to buy most of them myself, sizing confirmed by lymphoedema nurse to Haddenhams. They do sleeves in a better-than-average shade of beige, white, black, chocolate brown, navy and blue grey. I’ve gone, for beige, white, and black myself, as these tone in with a lot of my wardrobe. They sound very much like yours, with silicon dots at the top - really comfortable and they NEVER roll down!

Did you know we now have a new lymphoedema discussion category on this site?
