hi ladies i just want some advice as been docs and he never helped …ive been on antobotics 4 a sore throat which is still red antobotics finished now…but it feels like it going on me chest doc said to me u will just feel weaker when u go thro chemo .will they still do the chemo if i feel ill i so upset cause as much as i dont want the chemo .i want it started ad over with

sorry you are feeling poorly. Anti-biotics will only help if it is bacteria-based. Many upper respitory tract infections are viral and so anti-biotics don’t have any effect. Viral infections just run their course and this can take a long time if our immune systems are low.
As for your chemo, try not to worry about it too much. Prior to chemo, they will check your bloods by doing a full blood count. this is the main prognostic of determining if you are well enough for chemo. They will also check your temperature.
i had my last chemo with a sore throat and runny nose because of hayfever, but chemo still went ahead okay. Our chemo teams are very knowledgeable and they do everything they can to keep us safe and well.
