Hi there, Im looking for some emotional support as I am beginning to feel progressively down. I have breast cancer, I have finished Chemo and Radiotherapy but am still having 3 weekly herceptin…thats all going fine but a friend of mine died recently from cancer and it has been a real shock as this has come out of the blue!! my dog has also been diagnosed with cancer she is 12 and has been my best friend for the last 12 years and made me get up everyday through treatment so that she could have a walk…my sister has also been diagnosed with breast cancer and so I am feeling really down and feel the need to speak to someone!!!
Hi telor
What an awful time for you. No wonder you’re struggling right now.
They run a service on here called Someone like Me, where you can chat to someone on the phone. I don’t know if this is something that could help you?
Also there is a thread on Coping with fear and anxiety, which a lot of us chat on, which you are very welcome to join.
Sending you a massive hug
Sue xx
Hi telor,
I’m not sure what I can say to help you, other than it does get better and I understand what you’re going through. My mum died of cancer three weeks before I was diagnosed, then my dog died of cancer just as I was having my last herceptin. Four and a half years later my friend, who was diagnosed the same year as me, died of breast cancer and my next dog died of cancer of the mammary glands - ie the dog equivalent of breast cancer. I was at work when I got the call from the vet to say it was cancer and there was nothing they could do - I had a complete melt down, had to go and hide in a meeting room and sob my heart out.
Sending hugs xx
