Fibroadenoma Growth

Hi all, I recently had a lump in my breast diagnosed as a fibroadenoma, and was told it was quite large (my sister has some but they’re less than half a cm each). At the time, mine was 2.5cm, on the side of my breast. I was hoping it would decrease in size and I could ignore it. I went in for a second ultrasound and biopsy today, and it is now 3.2cm, within the space of two weeks. I’m worried by how rapidly it’s growing and if this is likely to continue? I’ve been under a lot of stress and I thought maybe that could have contributed to it’s growth? Basically, I would do anything to avoid having surgery to have it removed, and wondered if anyone could tell me about whether or not it’s necessary. I feel a little unsure about the pros and con’s of keeping/removing the lump. I’m really very scared of surgery. Just looking for some more information than I currently have, my head is full of worries!
