I had a cyst drained and a fibroadenoma removed back in March, and whilst the scar seems to have healed really well, I can still feel quite a big hard lump there. Is this just the scar tissue and perfectly normal, or could it be that the cyst has come back, or that there is another fibroadenoma?
Its also a bit painfull sometimes, but I’ve heard that it can take a while for the nerve endings to sort themselves out after an operation.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? is this normal, or should I make another appointment with the breast clinic to get it checked out?
It is likely to be scar tissue as its so soon since your op. I had a lumpectomy late Feb and still get pain occasionally especially when I stretch. I also have lots of lumps around the scar and where the bad bit was removed, which in my case, is scar tissue. Does your scar hurt all the time or just now and again. However, it could be an infection or a collection of fluid or possibly the return of your original conditon although it is a bit soon perhaps for that to happen. If it were me and I was worried, I would either contact your clinic or see your GP if sooner for peace of mind.
I am 21 years old, and have quite a large fibroadenoma (4.5cm) in my left breast and I am having it removed on the 14th July. I was just wondering if anyone else has had one removed of this size or similar? And whether or not I will experience much pain after the op because I need to sort out time off work? Thanks!
I am a 34 yr old African woman and i have been putting off going to the GP for over one year…fear really of what the lump in my breast could be…anyway i went and i have numerous fibroadenoma’s largest being around 2.6cm which i think is huge, i don’t know what to do, i have had another test via cells done today i’ve had the mamogram and ultrasound done. i’m just worried. why i mentioned african above is my healing tends to be very keloid and i was wondering if there are any other women who have experienced the healing of scars to be like this also how big are the scars etc… i am due to call for my results in 2 weeks and have an appointment in Dec where i make my decision as to if i want them/it out!!!.. reading the posts on the site has been very informative.
