Hi, I am really new to all this. Due to have my first chemo next week 22nd October, I will be having 6 sessions of FEC80 been told by my oncologist that the side effects will be minimum due to dosage, not sure what to expect, I’m feeling very anxious and scared at the moment.
Hi there, this is my first post too. Just had first cycle of 6 of FEC100 on 15th October. So far so good, no nausea. I think the steroids make me feel jittery and didn’t sleep so well last night. I hope to 'negotiate ’ their use with my oncologist before the next cycle. Decided also the have a picc line before the next round as my veins aren’t great and it took a while to find one, so that should make life easier. My attitude is that I do not expect to get sick, maybe exhausted but I can live with that for a while. Good luck.
Sorry you had to join us jules007 but welcome anyway!
I am trying to stay positive, and normal for as long as possible, I know it’s going to be really hard but doable. I can cope with most things but not sleep (lol). Hopefully we sail through with no major problems. Keep in touch let me know how you are doing. Sending you a big hug. Katrina
Hi. I had my first FEC chemo session today and I am surprised at how well it has gone, I felt more nauseous this morning before I set off. A nurse sat with me and pumped 4 syringes into my cannula, one of them felt a bit cold so they gave me a heat pad to rest my arm on and it was all done after about 45 mins. It is now 6 hrs later and I still feel fine. I am prepared that tomorrow might be different, but if it is I’ll get through it. If all goes to plan my next will be in 3 weeks. Scheduled for 3 in total then 9 weeks of Taxol. Hope all goes well for you. My chemo buddies advised me to drink plenty of water, before, during & after. I’ve had about 3 litres sor far today and my wee looks like lucozade!
Hi girls
Day 5 today has not been so good, totally exhausted. Nausea, which is disappointing as it’s the first, and now indigestion. Hoping tomorrow will be better. Good luck all, Julie
