first mammogram post diagnosis

first mammogram post diagnosis Hello

Today I found out that my other breast has an area that needs further investigation. I have to go back to the clinic on Friday.

I know it could mean cancer -is there anything else it could be? Also does it mean there is a lump?

thanks

Hi Cally Sorry you’re worried. It could be a lump, but it could also be microcalcifications or a cyst or other things I don’t know about. Not much longer to wait now and I do hope it all turns out OK.

Similar situation Hi Cally

I finished treatment (lumpectomy, 6 fecs, 20 rads) on 20th December and have had pain and swelling in my other breast since then. Been called in for early check up and mammogram on 16th January - totally petrified. Thought that once all the treatment was over I would feel relieved - but reverse is true - I feel scared and disbelief about having my life back. Dealt with it all amazingly well while it was happening now I’m really low - told this is normal but it feels horrible.

Hopefully both of us have just got something to do with the after effects of the treatment and all the hormone changes etc. I went on tamoxifen for 2 weeks but got severe joint and muscle pain - found out I was postmenopausal at 40! and was put on Arimidex which seems ok so far (10 days) - but all these drugs could be causing the problems in the other breast - that’s what I’m hoping anyway.

Hope it’s ok - keep us posted.

Love and hugs - remember your not alone.
