first oncologist appointment tomorrow

I have my appointment tomorrow, to find out what treatment i am having next. I have coped really well so far, mx and anc within 3 weeks. Everything has happened so fast, i feel totally out of control of my life. I’m 6 weeks post mx and 3 weeks post anc, and i am just feeling human again, and i am scarred stiff that the chemo is going to make me feel rotten again, i have an awful phobia of being sick. Any ideas would be very welcome, i dont like ginger, which i have heard is good.
Thanks Sharon.

Hi Sharon, I’ve had first chemo 2 days ago and like you was very concerned about being sick - nothing so far. I’m doing ginger and green tea and using bio band - google it. Its the american version, there is a uk type version, i just went with the american one because it was the one recommended to me. Good Luck

Hi Sharon

I hate being sick also (who doesn’t?). I found that if I took the anti-sickness meds as soon as possible - I took them whilst actually having the chemo - they are very effective. I was only sick once from the chemo - that was the first time when I waited until I got home to take the meds. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones - but the meds are very good.

Good luck xxx

Hi Sharon, I had 6 lots of chemo and coped well - they give you anti nausea medication - I wont lie - I did feel sick at times but was never actually sick and the tablets were great. We are all different and get various side effects and its impossible to know how you will be until you start chemo but many many ladies including me say its “do-able”. I hope you are in that camp! There are threads on here for how to cope with chemo which are well worth a read. I finished 7 months ago now and starting to get right back to normal so there is light at the end of the tunnel. I wish you all the best - you should feel better once you know what your treatment plan is. Very best wishes to you, Debbie x
