hi there ladies. had my first oncology appt today. it sort of brought it all home that a mistake had not been made. my consultant seemed quite positive but not really sure if was reading more positivism into it then there was. have decided to have chemo first to try and avoid a mastectomy as was given the option but have a feeling at the back of my mind that a mastectomy is still on the cards. one thing i am not sure about and seemed to find conflicting info is if being her2 negative is good or not. i am also er/pr positive, has anyone had the same diagnosis. as starting chemo soon looking to cut my hair short and go purple! take care ladies lol tazzie x ( thought lol stood for lots of love but just found out means laugh out loud so thought it was appropriate to put this !)
Being Her2 negative is a good thing.
I have alot of good points on my cancer, early, grade two, small invasive, clear nodes, hormone postive, but I was told the bad part of my cancer was being her2positive.
Her2pos means you have to have herceptin as well as chemo. I am very very glad to be having herceptin as its a wonder drug, but I would rather not have been having it and not been her2positive as this is a more aggressive type of cancer.
Hope that helps.
