Congratulations on your 1st hairdressers appointment. I bet you feel on top of the world.

hi anne i remember the first trip to the hairdressers after treatment was finished and my hair had started to grow back, its a wonderful feeling, certainly does lift your spirits up - makes you feel normal again !!!

my other bliss moment was being able to tie my hair back in a ponytail again, i had so missed that as before i lost my hair i always wore my hair tied back !!! simple things but wonderful to feel normal again x

Anne

I SO want to me able to have my hair cut. I finished chemo 20 Feb so I guess I will have to wait until September.

Enjoy
Pauline

yo babe… i love good news! am smiling fit to burst.

Hi All

I finished chemo in Nov. Hair now long enough to get the straighteners on it - FAB!!! It has also grown in with colours like its been highlighted - and not grey!!! Its fab - and having had long hair before - I would have never ever ever got my hair cut this short but am loving it - and apparently it makes me look younger. I turned 40 just Friday past - and have strangers telling me they thought I was 30!!

So for all of you out there - keep going - YOU WILL GET THERE - and the hair will come back - only thing was - I prayed for straight but have got curly - but thinnest GHD’s are fab

Take care all
Fiona

Wonderful news - It must feel so great. I am at the stage of having about 1 cm of “fluff” on my head, and wondering what it will be like when it grows up!! Silly question, but does this fluff gradually turn into a normal hair type texture? Thanks for the info! Sarah x

Hi everybody

Thanks for the replies - Pauline, I know Sept seems such a long way away, but you will get there - and hopefully your hair will grow quicker than mine has!

Seabird - the hairdresser “cut” mine yesterday, but only a very very little, just the bits that looked as though they had been singed! Mine is really just long fluff, but now with a bit of colour and trim it looks almost normal. Am on Femara which I believe thins your hair, but what the hell, I have hair again, albeit fine and thin.

Thanks again everyone.
Cheers

Hi All,
My hair needs its first trim also its all different lengths. It came in pure grey at 39 so I coloured it with Naturtint which is all natural ingredients. My hair is also fluffy but looks pretty good with lots of gel on it, I,ve tried to spike it up but it growing in all different directions and going curly at the ends so looks a bit strange.
Anyway I,m not fussy as long as i,ve got some.

Happy birthday Sparkler, I,m 40 also in 2 months. Nobody has told me that I look 30 so I think I,ll ask for Botox for my birthday.
Love to all

I had my first hair cut a couple of weeks ago. I finished Tax in September. It now looks great. I had worn my hair in a chin length bob previously. I too have been told I look younger with short hair (I’m 45). I have a bit of grey, but very little (none before).

Andrea

You have described your hair exactly the same as mine, it’s ok with the gel but shocking in its natural state. Trying to pluck up the courage to get the ends trimmed off but I’m worried the hairdresser will get scissor happy and I’ll be back to where I was 6 weeks ago.

The return of eye lashes was just great and made me feel heaps better.

Hi

I have just booked a colour at the hairdressers for Friday. Finished chemo end of November and it’s not that long but the sides and back need tidying up. My hair was brown before and came back grey and seems to be getting darker but I think it will only every be dark grey. Also the top just grows any way it wants !

Hi AJ

I know how you feel, I,m not keen to part with any of it at the moment but it does need tidying up.

My eyelashes have come in lovely ( better than before ) and my eyebrows are thicker but seem to be growing
outwards like Dennis Healy. My lovely daughter pointed out that I have a hairy face also. I wonder if its the Tamoxifen.
Lots of love

yeah i found that hairy face ! not dark just very fine and long …
I think its something to do with the folicles after chemo …
