Hi ladies, I thought that this maybe of interest to somebody. I’m now in week 3 of tablet taking and have to say that the side effects are worse than I thought! I’m trying to decide whether it’s just that I have never had any symptoms from my cancer so I feel great until a treatment starts!!
So after 10 days I got a cold, cough and strep throat that made me lose my voice, a week on, it’s not back (hubby thinks this is a distinctly good SE!!) so antibiotics. Since then have had sore mouth, loss of appetite, feeling sick, weakness, tiredness, bouts of the runs.
i think that this week is the worst then you get a 7 day break from Ibrance. I’m also on maximum dose of both drugs and I don’t know if this can be reduced on the trial. In the States the onc will just reduce the dose so there is some flexibility. On the plus side my bloods have been good so far.
sorry this is all me, me, me. You have to report everything on a trial, I might end up a hypochondriac !! I hope that everyone is enjoying some sunshine xxx
Hiya still here.
Thank you so much for posting …there are loads of us that will be following your experience with ibrance.
Sorry you have had so many side effects though but maybe when you see oncologist . Will reduce the dosage .
Hoping that funny face will be reading this and reply as she has been on it eleven months and will be familiar with all the hiccups of it.
Hugs xxxx
Thank you, Carolyn, for the Inspire website information, I’ve read lots about it and feel more reassured. Do you find it a knowledgeable forum? The posters seem so well informed on their cancer treatments, makes me feel a right thicko!! Maybe when you are paying you demand more from your Onc…xx
Hi still here.
I only dip into inspire website as I like to keep up to date on ibrance but it amazes me how much info they all have. They seem to be really into every blood test result etc etc.
We have to remember its mostly US and I imagine they get allocated more oncologist time as they pay high medical costs!
It’s a very informative site though but I don’t post or get involved like I do here !!
Hugs xx
Just a quick update, mainly for Tournesol as I’ve just read that you might be trying Palbociclib, I am feeling much better even though I haven’t finished my 3 weeks on. So please don’t be put off by my post! I still don’t have my voice back but I think you were right, it has been the antibiotics that made me feel so sick. Thanks for your replies xx
