Why is it my flushes differ so much. Some days i think they are getting better then WHAM they are back with a vengeance
The other night i had the most massive long flush ever i was actually really concerned about it, and soaked after.
Ladies who are on arimedex are the flushes as bad as on tamoxifen?

Hi Liverbird,
I’ve been on tamoxifen for just over six months now, and I find my hot flushes change every few days. It’s all very depressing, never knowing what’s coming next. And just as you get used to them dying down they go mad again.
I’ve been on Tamoxifen for 11 months and I agree they are very up and down. I had a horrendous one yesterday and from the amount of sweat pouring down my back you would have thought I had done a marathon, ( I was washing up at the time). Im taking Evening Primrose Oil as instructed by onc, but too be honest I dont think anything is working. Roll on the end of all this.
Mine were so terrible when I was on Tamoxifen that I finally stopped after 3 years. 18 years later BC came back in same breast and have now been on Arimidex for a year and can assure you that after the first 3 months I only get about one or two mild flushes a day.
Was suprised this post had made its way up to the top of the postings list again.
Olivia i would like to know what grade cancer you had and treatment and lymph node involvement. Also did you decide to stop tamoxifen after 3 yrs or oncologist. 18yrs wow i think i could cope so much better if mine didnt re-appear for 18yrs.
I love the summertime but the flushes slightly ruin it for me. Hubby is off for 2 weeks in July and i find myself limiting where we can go because of the fear of being soaked all the time.
I can cope with flushes but not the sweating i worry i have damp patches on me. Being so over weight i know doesnt help.
Onc appt in a few weeks will have to ask her about it.

Hi Ruth
Well it’s the end of the football season so maybe we will catch up again sometime! Been very busy, but agree with my big sis who keeps telling me I do too much, am now TRYING to take things a bit easier but it doesn’t come easy!
My flushes are BAD. Sometimes I sweat alot, particularly in weather like this week. And I don’t want to complain about the weather, I love it like this! Mostly I just get very hot, sometimes I get buzzing in my ears like before a faint, sometimes I get a perculiar feeling in my stomach, a bit like adrenalin rush, when they start.
I have not had a good, full nights sleep for 18 mths, I am exhusted, and cat nap if I am at home in my armchair like an old age pensioner (I look like one too when you see me trying to get up from a lower seat). I now have a knee like a balloon so going to docs soon as had it for 3 weeks. My sister in law who is a nurse said it looks like her knee which needed to be flushed out (arthritic bone depositits floating in the wrong place!) Sounds yuk to me, but I am really incapasitated, it is surprising how often you kneel down without thinking about it!
Will phone soon.
