Just wondering how often you ladies have been seen after treatment has finished at clinic appts.
I finished chemo last July had an appt Oct then March now nothing til Oct.
I have awful pain under arm and in shoulder mastectomy side and dont know who to turn too.
a lady who i have kept in contact with from the ward when we had surgery gets seen every 4 months.

I was dx Jan 2003 - get annual check up with bc surgeon and bi-annual mammos. Surgeon said this will continue for 9 years. Onc discharged me after chemo and rads. Have seen him privately for HER2 test. When I had bad hip pain, GP sent me for ordinary x-ray, nothing found, then 3 months of weekly physio. I told bc surgeon at annual review and within a few days had a bone scan which showed osteoarthritis in both hips, hands and feet and bisphosphonates were prescribed along with Calcichew/Vit D.
I do feel that if I have a problem I only have to ring my bc nurse and she will get me an urgent appt. When I got Mondor’s disease about 2 yrs ago, I rang her on a Thursday and she got me an urgent appt in clinic with the duty bc surgeon on the Saturday morning. I didn’t know they held clinics on a Saturday. I feel quite comfortable with the current monitoring.

I have appts with surgeon or onc every 6 months on a staggered basis, so am seeing one or t’other every 3 months. Dont know if this will get more spaced eventually - perhaps see onc say every June,surgeon December, so that am seeing someone every six months. Had to see the onc last week - waited I hr 35 mins then spent 2 mins with him as they had mislaid my notes. Oh well.
