Hi all
I am posting this on behalf of new user ‘rivergirl’
Best wishes
Ann
I just wanted to say hi & to thank those of you who’ve contributed to the discussions. I was diagnosed with a triple negative tumour in may 07, i had a lumpectomy with sentinel node biopsy and was fortunate enough to have avoided any spread, i went onto to have chemo & radio. Its been so helpful to read the discussions & realise i’ve not been alone in how i’ve felt. At the end of treatment i felt completely at sea & the info on the forum pointing to the article by Dr Harvey was great, just what i needed. I’m now coming up to my first follow up mammogram which i’ve been told i’ll probably have to wait 3 weeks for the result of, i just feel this is so long to wait & feel very tearful at the moment, it was great to read thistles post & realise i’m not alone in this.
Rivergirl.
I have just read your post and know just how you feel. Three weeks when you are waiting for results feel like an eternity. If you have not got a result at the end of three weeks, can you phone your BC nurse? That is what I did because Christmas and New Year had passed and I thought it might have got delayed in the post. (five weeks). The nurse was able to tell me the result-burst into tears with relief. Theletter with the result was waiting in the mail when I arrived home from work the same day.
I will be thinking about you, please let us know as soon as you hear anything.
Love and take care

I was told 2-4 weeks wait for results but I actually got them immediately so hopefully you will too. They were officially confirmed by letter a few weeks later. The first mammo afterwards is daunting but I am sure you will be fine. I am in Hartlepool

Hi Thistle & Debbie,
Thank you both so much for your kind words & encouragement. I’ve contacted my BC nurse and she is going to see if she can speed up the results for me in any way. I’ll let you know how i get on. Hope you are both well. This was my first time on the discussion forum & it was such a boost to read your comments. If anyone else is out there browsing the forums but feeling nervous about posting I’d encourage you to take the plunge, the support is great.
Take care,
Rivergirl.
