forum improvements

Dear Members,

Today we have made some improvements to the site which we hope you will find useful.

After extensive training about where to access information and support around breast cancer we have refocused the roles of some of our hosting team. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the new role of our Breast Cancer Care facilitators - Katie, Sam, Joe, Louise and Lucy. We hope this team will be able to give you an even better service in guiding and facilitating good quality information and support when you post on the site.

We have also updated our code of conduct and terms and conditions to reflect changes in the way the forums have developed. You can read the terms and conditions at breastcancercare.org.uk/bcc-forum/extension/?PostBackAction=ForumTerms
and more information about how to use the forums by clicking on the ‘using the forums’ tab above.

We hope these changes benefit us all and help provide a supportive site for everyone.

Best wishes
Ann

Good to see that you will be deleting posts from dubious medical researchers, because we had a few of those a while back.If it is genuine research, one would expect their university to be involved and for there to be clear safeguards in place.

Pity that you didn’t specifically mention all the dubious journalists, screenwriters and novelists who ask for our help also. We’ve had more than our fair share of those in the past. If BCC haven’t checked them out and the writer is intending to keep all the money, it is an improper commercial advertisement.

I think that the revised terms and conditions are still sufficient to enable deletion of posts from the second group I’ve mentioned (correct me if I’m wrong), but why specifically mention one group of pests and not the other?
