Hi all, recently diagnosed Triple negative grade 3 invasive ducal breast cancer in my left breast.Brca1 positive.Spread to my lymph nodes, this is how i found the cancer as mammograms didnt pick it up.
Started chemo last week and had an Mri to show the sizes of the tumours. Just had a phone call from the breast nurse, there is an area in my healthy breast that looks suspicious and need to go back for amore ultrasound and possible biopsy.
I have read the triple negative cancer has a higher rate of metasizing to the other breast and/or higher rate of a new primary cancer starting in the healthy breast too. Am in complete bewilderment, can’t believe my bad luck. Was just coming to terms with this and now bam!!! I am 41 x
Foxy, I’m sorry to hear this. As if you’ve not got enough to think about already. Hopefully it won’t be anything serious. If it is though and you’ve started chemo already then surely it will all be treated the same?? I’m not much good at advice at the moment, I’m still coming to terms with my tn diagnosis too. I don’t know enough to really comment, but wanted you to know I’m thinking about you and have everything crossed for all of us. Xxx
Hi Foxy, I can’t offer any real advice sorry but didn’t want to read and run. This must be a complete nightmare for you, just as you thought you had got your head around what was happening a bit. Think positive that at least this is something they have picked up very early, and could be something unrelated to the other breast. It’s better for them to check everything out to make sure. And like netti said, if you’ve started chemo it will work for both breasts anyway, so that’s got to be a good thing. Hope you get answers very soon as the wait is awful xx
