I remember the days when no-one was charged for NHS prescriptions. Now it is only those over 60. It is a good thing that those who are desperately unable to pay for large numbers of prescriptions should be helped, but it should not be forgotten that someone has to pay for them. As with all this government’s “free gifts”, there is a sting in the tail. Increased taxation and increased public borrowing.
