Fun week...

My sinusy nose turned into a problem on Tuesday night, temp of 38.1…

Had to confess and get hauled in. Only had high temp the first time they checked (lower than I measured at home) and once the IV antibiotics started things quickly returned to normal.

I then spent the next two days trying to get out again. They weren’t going to let me on Thursday. Nothing wrong with my obs, but reckoned they’d spotted (pardon the pun) a rash… Actually it looked like a sweat rash to me… It was hot in there… After trying to get hold of the doc in charge of me for several hours (not spotted since the first morning) and the rash had gone anyway, I was getting pretty fed up. I pointed out to the nurses that I was bed-blocking, car-park blocking and if they didn’t get me out of there soon I would have to start recycling my socks, but she still didn’t show up.

Finally, the student doctor who had been milling around said she had got hold of her and I needed to stay another day. Told I was not and actually was packed and ready and was going to discharge myself… The doctor arrived in 10 minutes flat… and said I was OK to go. Just had to sit around and wait for my swag bag of pills including two types of antibiotics.

Jeez… What a way to spend one’s “week off”. Why is it so hard to get out of hospitals once you’ve checked yourself in…? Chemo 7 of 8 this coming Thursday…

On the good side, I have head fuzz…

Not only that but among the isolated remaining eyebrow hairs there are lots of new little ones growing…

I suppose all that will fall out again before I’ve finished with chemos 7 and 8 (EC)???

Hi mousy

Glad to hear you are back home. I’m dead jealous of your head fuzz by the way, due my last chemo this week and keep scrutinising my head for the slightest sign of something, but nothing as yet !!
