G-CSF injections (Filgrastim)

Apologies if there is already a thread for this.

I know a lot of people have lots of side effects with this. I have had it for 3 cycles now. I was advised by a friend who had also had it to take it at bedtime and have Loratadine anti-histamine also known as Claritin half an hour before the injection.

I have done this and only experienced minimal aching thigh muscles in the morning which settled as I move around. I can’t categorically say it is due to this as I haven’t tried it without. The idea is that histamine is released when the bone marrow is stimulated by the injection causing some of the bone pain. Loratadine helps lessen this. It can be bought from Aldi cheaper than from a chemist.

Hope people find this helpful x
