300mgs x 3 a day!!! Do tell me how you manage to keep awake during the daytime! I am taking 150mgs x 2 a day and am really struggling. I do take them for nerve pain and suspect part of the problem is that I also take 70mgs x 2 a day of oxycontin. I have only the past week started to take the pregabalin too and am hoping it will settle down. My onc did give me some dexamphetamine to keep me awake but I am loathe to take more than half a pill twice a day.
So glad it seems to be helping with the hot flushes.
I M taking 600mg twice a day. I was taking it 3 times a day but managed to reduce it and don’t feel at all sleepy. I think you need to give any new drug time as the side effects you first experience disappear later. I wasn’t on this dosage to start with. It was a much smaller dose to start with. But it is a fantastic drug and I use it for nerve pain. A young doctor who had recently worked in Neurology suggested I try it and since then I have used less morphine. I´m fine in the day . I wake early , like to be out about 7am ,to wake my dog before the heat of the day , so thats an hour at least . Three days a week I go to the gym at 10am , twice for pilates and once for "bums and tums " for which I am very well endowed! My afternoons are more leisurely , we have no dish washer ,so sometimes it´s 9pm before i am washing up . After that I fall asleep !
There is no way I can stay awake in the evenings ,but to be honest this is´nt a problem as before i had´nt had a good nights sleep since starting femara .
It has´nt got rid of the problems , but it has certainly diminished them by a lot . I now feel able to cope . The flushes and sweats have stopped taking over my life which they definately had before .
I think Dawn that it´s proberbly the fact that you are taking other tablets as well thats making you so sleepy .
