Hi, went to have my zometa today and was told by the nurse there that my blood test shows that my gamma gt levels have risen from 164 ( March blood test ) to 580 (Mondays blood test) Have texted my oncologist nurse and waiting to hear , but while I was waiting wondered if anybody knew if it was normal for the levels to rise like this when starting cepecitabine , Im currently on my second week of my second course. Thank you x

Hi Dgardens, I have an elevated GGT level too but was told by my GP that this was probably due to NSAIDs and antidepressants I’ve been taking but would love to know what your Oncologist says or whether others have had this. By the way, my GP said they wouldn’t worry as some patients have GGT levels of over 1200. Hope that helps.
