i had my first TC-H  chemo wednesday and 2nd day today of gcsf injections and im in so  much pain .my bones are hurting so much . its painful to stand.walk.lay everything . i really could do with some ideas if any one has some plz

Hi angel77…try taking paracetamol every 4 hours, alternating with ibuprofen in between, subject to max doses (you may need something stronger so best talk to your pharmacist or team). Have a warm bath with muscle soak bath crystals in it. The wheat type bags you put in a microwave or a hot water bottle might help where it is the most painful. For the next round try taking the painkillers from day 2 before the pain kicks in; this worked for me as my Onc said it turns off the pain receptors. You probably know this already but if not, take your temp before taking para. For many it does get less painful as the treatment progresses; however the ‘good’ news is that when it hurts means the injection is doing its job, i.e. stimulating bone marrow to produce white blood cells. Sorry can’t be more help…hope the pain subsides for you soon xx

Hi Angel,

Sorry the injections are giving you pain. I’ve heard that piriton is supposed to give some relief. A lady on here posted that her BC nurse suggested it. My onc had never heard of this, but was happy to prescribe some. I took one, but it was making me sleepy, so didn’t continue. Perhaps contact your unit for dome stronger psin medication? Hope you are feeling better today x x
