Has anyone else had the gene test? I’m going for mine today as I’m the 4th generation of my family to have BC (there I’d already a 5th who’s a carrier, my cousin’s son aged 22!!).
Am feeling very nervous as am 1 week post-op for lumpectomy with just radiotherapy to come but a positive result would mean a whole new set of scenarios as I have 3 beautiful daughters whose lives could also be changed by the outcome.
Trying to stay positive but not easy when it may affect others, wish me luck, Suzie xx
Good luck Suzie,must be very difficult to think this may have an impact on your daughters as well as yourself.
I’m having the tests done in December - not sure why so long off but the hospital have suggested it
my auntie had breast cancer 5 yrs ago, my mum passed away at 57 - 11yrs ago from something unrelated so I think they want to screen- I’m guessing December once I’ve finished all my treatment - chemo should finish end September/beg October if all goes as planned then rads afterwards.
Was gonna ask if it was possible but the oncologist advised she’d already referred me x

im 34. I was offered genetic screening when I was diagnosed. With two young girls I was keen to have this done.blood was tajpjen two weeks ago. Said it would take two months for the results to be back.
Im having chemo first then surgery, so I’m hoping it’ll be back before ten as I have a few rounds left.
