getting there
getting there Tomorrow is the last of my 15 rads its gone so quickly compared to chemo.I’m very sore under the treated breast and the radiographer said the skin is starting to break there. She had no suggestions so I wondered if any of you had any ideas to help it heal.lol Val
Hi, I had 25 rads and my skin was fine until I had the first cycle of Taxotere. I had a very bad reaction and ended up with the skin on my breast breaking due to being very run down. I had to go on penicillin for a week.
hya Horace, glad you finishing rads tomorrow. I go for my fifth tomorrow. 10 more then herceptin. How are you now few weeks post chemo. Feeling much better. Still a bit breathless and not quite right but getting there hopefully. Every day when I get up I have a recci on the hair situation. Still no sign of eyebrows/eyelashes but hair just coming through. I caught a glance of myself in car mirror other day and as I had a brown scarf on I looked just like a tortoise!! Baldy and scaly!!! l love tortoises but don’t like looking like one. Why is the hair thing so important when we are battling a life threatening disease? Can’t help on broken skin but sure someone will help out. Take care Love Eileen
skin breakdown Hi Horace
I was advised to prepare the skin for radiotherapy as soon as the scar from surgery had started healing. This I did with a huge pot of Acqueous Cream, from my GP. It also helped get all the glue off (glue used instead of stitches brilliant).
I go for radiotherapy planning tomorrow and prepare for four weeks, breast area is very soft and all well healed, hope this may help, I need a bit of help myself so I hope you get some comfort.
Take care , eileenmary
