Hi all, I was diagnosed with BC on the 13th January, no grade given but told me the size was 22mm x 14 mm. Had a WLE with SNB on the 24th January, my initial scan showed my lymph nodes were clear but am now beside myself with fear waiting for the results on Monday, I just don’t know how I’m going to get through the next couple of days, or even how I’m going to physically walk in the room to see my surgeon. I know i’m boring the pants off people keep going on about it but I can’t help myself, can anyone help me to calm down? Much love and hugs to all going through the same xxx

dear chascat
If you had your op in Jan you ‘qualify’ to join the January Surgery buddies thread…come over and join us …we are all at different stages in this horrid journey but i’ve found the forum and my jan buddies the most wonderful help…
we dont bore each other because we understand what each is going through …you will calm down and then you may go off on one again…its not been called a roller coaster for nothing!
I had all my lymph glands taken out at the same time as my lumpectomy because the sentinel node tested positive…i too get my actual ‘results’ from the op on Monday having waited over two weeks (op was on the 17th)
so i’m a bit scared too!
Best of luck, big hugs
Mary M
CC you need to follow the 3-step plan.
- Breathe in.
- Breathe out.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2.
The waiting is the pits but we’ve all been there so we know how hard it is.
Good luck for your results.
Hi chascat, so sorry you are so anxious it is horried, i was in same boat as you very recently, had op on 24th jan, WLE, lumpectomy and sentinel node and one other removed. I was terrified too of results; my FNA was negative to lymph node and the results proved the same. I am seeing onc on tuesday for treatment plan, unsure if i have to have chemo yet. i will be praying your results are the best they can be xxxhollygypsy
Thank you Hollygypsy, my scan on my lymph nodes was clear so I know that’s a positive but not a definate, the waiting is just unbearable x
Boring people is allowed as long as it us not done too much. Waiting is horrible. We ALL sympathise with you. It is such a long time to get results. What ever they will be your team will do their best to get rid of this or you. Try to get out and about and keep occupied. You can’t make them come any faster so ther is no point in making yourself and those around you ill. It is impossible to preguess the answers. Your GP may prescribe a sedative . The worst they can say is you need further surgery for lymphnode clearance , or narrow margins. Radiotherapy which you would have had anyway, hormone treatment, and chemotherapy. All these treatments if suggested are designed to eradicate your disease. They sound awful and in some way are but the girls at the same stage on the Forums will help you through it, as will your nearest and dearest. Peer support , BCN and the Helpline are so invaluable . Do ring when having a blip.
Hugs

Hi know what you mean the waiting is a pain. I too had op on 16th after original diagnosis on 22November. Had to wait a week after diagnosis then another wait for MRI then another wait for results then another wait for CT scan and another wait for results of another biopsy. Then Christmas hence no op until January. You would think the waiting gets easier but it doesn’t. Now have to wait to see oncologist to discuss chemotherapy due to size of lump, my age and grade. So waiting buddies here goes again.
Hi all, well I’m back to waiting again as a 1 tiny micro spec of cancer was found in one of four nodes taken so they’re all coming out now on Saturday and then the panic will start again waiting for the results xxx
