going for surgery tomorrow

Hi i am booked in for surgery tomorrow, so will be going into hospital tonight at 6pm…I’m getting a lumpectomy and lymph nodes removed. I am very weepy today and dread every minute that is passing, can anyone please talk to me and help me through this scary time xx

Hi Cyndi , sending you some big hug’s  , It’s only natural that you feel a bit weepy today, i know how scarey all this stuff can be, but try not to worry though  (know that’s easier said than done ) but you will be fine promise, often the thought of what we are going through is much worse than the reality.

I too had a WLE (Lumpectomy and SNB back in 2007 ,and was very scared at the time like you, but honestly it was fine and i neednt have worried, it was all over very quickly and i didnt have any pain at all after the Op , I was up and about doing everything i always do as soon as i got home the next day, do keep up with the exercises they give you to do, to help keep your arm moveing and to stop it from stiffening up , and also make sure you get lot’s of rest ,and TLC from your family and friend’s , but most of all try not to worry too much pet as youll proberly be surprised at just how well you feel after.

I know how scarey all this cancer rubbish is ,but keep comeing on here for lot’s of help and support from all the lovely Ladies ,we all know what you are going through ,so you will never be alone, there are lot’s of people here who can help with some support and advice.

Im also due to have some more surgery on the 9th Sept myself , a mammoplasty, and feeling a little anxious and scared like you as my surgery is getting nearer , but i know it will be all fine, just like it will be for you. Will be thinking of you tomorrow Cyndi , please let us all know how you get on, and please try not to worry too much.

Big Hug’s to you

Linda xx

You are going to be fine, the op is really fast and the people around you know what they are doing. Just think ppositive thoughts, and when the fears come up, try tofocus on the future and what you are going to do whenn this is over. A new, stronger, braver, freer you is going to emerge from this experience. You are not alone and cures are available. I send you lots of positive thoughts, love and prayers xx

Hi Cyndi25

I hope your surgery goes well for you. I am 2 weeks post op of a mastectomy/ reconstruction and have experienced a roller coaster of emotions, (all perfecty normal I am told), fear anger, sadness sometimes individually other times my imagination runs wild and the whold thing is too over whelming.

This site is so wonderful for support, I have felt at times it is like a big warm lovely soft  duvet comforting you, even if the person offering support can’t answer your concerns there is always ask the nurse facility.

Good luck and lots of duvet hugs.
