Hi all
Just wondered if anyone can recommend a good place to buy a mastectomy bra? I only have one at the moment, since i got my prothesis.
I have ordered one from nicola jane online, has anyone had one of theirs before?
Thanks.

Yes I am very happy with them, you can send it back free too if it’s not right for you. (as long as you live in the UK)
all the best to you,
Love Maria
Hi
I have used Nicola Jane for almost 4 years. They are an excellent firm. I have had bras and some lovely swimwear. They are always helpful and polite. Returns are free, very quick delivery. Excellent service.

Hi Naz
I haven’t had a mastectomy but am having a lot of problems with breast lymphodema and was referred to Woman Zone by the hospital. They are in Warrington if you live near Manchester, or you can find them on the internet. Have just bought 2 bras and am hoping for the best. They are very friendly and know what they are talking about.
Cheers
Margaret
Hi Naz,
I had my mastectomy back in February, visited the Nicola Jane shop near Leeds, the staff were absolutely wonderful, putting me at my ease and helping me purchase my first bras. The bras are really comfortable, which I think is the most important just after surgery, but also pretty, which is also a good point when you are feeling low. One was a Nicola Jane and the other Anita, both equally good.

Hi Naz,
The mastectomy bras from marks and spencer are good but they only stock them in certain branches.I have got more sexy matching underwear than ever before. I can certainly reccomend Women zone near warrington the girls are fantastic for bras and swimwear. THey not only look at you physically but psychologically as well. I came out with a swin siut rather than a bikini but they were totally right. They have all the time in the world for you and manage to work from you staunch standpoint to a good halfway measure!
Happy shopping

I live in Scotland and we dont have a place line Nicola Jane, Eloise, Woman zone etc as far as I know. I was in Edinburgh and went to major stores, Debenhams and Jenners and asked if they stocked mastectomy bras, both assistants looked at me sympthathetically and said no. Marks and Spencer had quite a lot but none of them felt comfy. I have quite a heavy bust and the marks bras have thin straps which dig in to my shoulders. It is a nuisance not being able to by a bra off the cuff.
Take care everyone

I found “normal” bras to be the best solution for me - a very kind and patient fitter from M&S spent ages with me, and we found a non-wired, full style which fitted well, and held the prosthesis very securely. I had been disappointed with the size range of true post-surgery bras, so was very relived to find these.

Hi
I buy my mastectomy bras on line and have had good service from Nicola Jane, Amoena and M&S. My preference is having a pocketed version not only to keep the prosthesis in place but also to give a cotton layer next to my skin. So far the most comfortable one for me has come from Nicola Jane but its not my daintiest one. I’m still looking for the perfect combination.

Hi,
I wear the Lara form Amoena, it’s nonwired, has pockets and is a nice shape, plus it comes in pink! They are discontinuing this colour as it’s not very popular, I have 2 though. The sizes come up a little odd, I think I would normally be about a 34C/Dish but they are small in the back and big on the cup so I got a 36B. I’ve seen some other really pretty ones online but cost a lot of pennies. Not had much luck with M&S as the nonwired ones either offer no support or are in more of a ‘mature’ style than I am looking for. I know they do a pocket sewing in service at about £5 per pocket.

Thanks everyone!
I have ordered one from Nicola Janwe,so will see what that is like.
I am due some reconstruction surgery hopefully this summer, so i just need a couple to keep me going and the prothesis in!
Hi everyone
My advice would be to make an appointment and go for a fitting at a specialist shop (even if it is a pain to get there). They will make notes of your measurements and requirements and after that you can ring or email them and it is easier for them to recommend new bras when they have all your details. You can have them posted to you then.
I can also recommend Womanzone in Warrington and Betty and Belle in Altrincham.

Hi,
I got mine from Betty and Belle in Altrincham, they offer a fantastic service, am lucky enough to live not that far away so could go in person and get fitted but they do online and advice over the phone. Have just been back for swimwear and again great service. The woman who owns it has had a mastectomy so v understanding. Good luck
