Good nights sleep!

I finally caved in and went to see my GP yesterday to ask for help. Since diagnosis on 7th September I haven’t had more than 2 good hours sleep a night. My surgery is scheduled for next week, the 4th of December. It has been weeks of worrying and waiting for tests, and subsequent results and I only have DCIS which is straightforward treatment compared to many. I have been given a 2 weeks supply of sleeping pills and I slept all night, yay, I feel human again. I was getting so tired I couldn’t function. I thought I would share how much better I feel and there is no shame in asking for help.
Regards to you all x

Wow you’ve had a bit of a wait, have you had chemo or radiotherapy first? I was diagnose 3td September, mastectomy 22nd and started chemo on 31st October. I can’t sleep either, firstly because of morphine and tramadol, discomfort nos I think it’s habit. Sleeping tablets didn’t work for me - may be I should try again?
Next chemo on Friday, good luck on the 4th - I have a friend having her reconstruction that day and another having wisdom teeth out so must be a lucky day!!

Hi, it’s worth trying tablets again. I had to wait for slnb results to be clear before they could schedule surgery slot with both plastic surgeon an breast surgeon as I am having mastectomy, an immediate implant reconstruction and reduction to other boob. It has been a long long wait but as I shouldn’t have to have radiotherapy or chemotherapy I am lucky. I am so relieved the main surgery is being done in one “hit”. The waiting is awful I just want it over and done with now! Hope all goes well with you x
