Just to let you know I’ve had my scan results back today and everything is stable - I have bone mets for any of you who don’t know me. I don’t normally start a post like this but I’ve found it really helpful and positive when someone else has posted their good results so I thought I’d share my good news with all you mets ladies. This is a year after finishing chemo and being on Arimidex and Bisphosphonates. Keep positive.

Fab news.

Thats great news Nicky long may it continue
Hi Nicky
Really pleased for you. I’ve got bone mets too and am also now almost a year on from finishing chemo, am on herceptin and pamidronate and am also stable following scans in sept.
It makes me more confident of thinking of things I’d like to do the year after next (and even further away), not just next year.
Long may it last for both of us.
Best wishes.

Nicky,
Great news - long may it continue !!
After a possible spread in my ribs in June’s scan but an improvement in other areas, I’m due another one in approx 3 weeks then see onc before Xmas for results. Mind you, she did say the rib bit may be rads damage even tho it’s 18 months since they finished. Hope so !!
I feel like I’ve turned a corner now and feel really well (was going to start a post on feelings 2 yrs on but didn’t want to tempt fate) - better than I’ve felt in years and years.
Take care,
Liz
Really pleased for you Nicky, that’s fabulous news!
I’m about six months behind you on the bone mets diagnosis/chemo front and have just had 25 rads to the breast and lymph nodes - due to see my onc on 1st December but no scan booked in just yet. Hope I can follow in your footsteps - and Alison and Liz, you both seem to be doing really well too.

Great news Nicky, Alison and Liz, keep ‘flying the flag’ for bone mets.
My bone mets are giving me some jip at the mo, (2yrs 10 months since diagnosis but it only recently i’ve had any pain from them). I’m seeing an Orthopaedic Surgeon this afternoon in the hope that he can sort me out.

Great news Nicky. Thank you sharing good results. I have bone mets and am waiting for my next scan on 10th Dec.
Its gives everyone such a good boost when someone has some good news, I am really pleased for you.
Hi Nicky, I agree. It is great to hear good news on here. I am having a CT Scan on Thursday. I have just finished a long-haul round of chemo. Have been off it for a few weeks now and feel on top of the world. Food tastes GREAT. I have more energy to do things and even baked bread last night. I still sleep for Scotland so suppose the drugs are running through my system, but I can cope with that! I had frogotton how GOOD it feels to be (my) normal again.
Good luck for your scan on the 10th Daffy. Best wishes to everyone else posting on this thread. Love Val X
Great news Nicky, yes, you are so right about giving others a real boost. I am just starting on my chemo regime for secondaries and have had a couple of set backs in my treatment. I was feeling really low yesterday and was almost scared to log on in case I read something negative but no, it was positive and it really perked me up. I hope my scan in January shows the Carboplatin and Gemicitabine are knocking my lung and bone mets on the head.
Scottishlass, I am so glad to hear you are feeling better after your chemo. It is marvellous when food tastes normal and you really know what you fancy to eat and can enojy it. You are my role model for getting to my next big birthday 10 years from now.

Hi SusieV, Thought I would let you know that I had good news about my CT Scan. Nothing new showed up, only what was on previous scans. So I am over the moon. lOVE vAL
Hi Val
Brilliant news for you. Great to hear from you. I have my second dose tomorrow and then a further dose of Gemcitabine next Monday. So far I have only managed one dose of both drugs so far due to low neutrophils and a nasty infectio last week. I had none of this last time when on chemo so it has come as quite a shock. But I am getting plenty of support and encouragement from friends and family and had a lovley day on Thursday for my 50th. I could have had the chemo on Friday but asked to leave it til tomorrow so I had my first G & T for ages last night - very good!

Hi Barb
Good news for you too. I really hope the news is positive for me too. My GP visited me on Tuesday after I got out of hospital and couldn’t believe that I was out so quickly and up and dressed! She reckons I must have the constitution of an Ox! Let’s hope so, I have a feeling I am going to need it but I am up for it. I want to see my 16 year old daughter and 14 year old son get through Uni and well on their way. AND spend much more time with my lovely hubby. Keep smiling!
Susie
