feeling around i found my lump over christmas and was praying it was a cyst but went to the breast clinic on wednesday to be told not, the worst thing is waiting for the test results.

went in to work last night but find it impossible to do anything and so sore and bruised from the lumper puncture

Hi Liz, I feel for you, I had a similar experience, went for 3 core biopsies before my bc was confirmed, so tha made it nearly a month long wait, it was hell.
Try and look on the bright side if you can, the doctors are making 100% sure either way.

Good luck for your results next week

Hugs

Marge

Hi Liz

I was the same as you - first biopsy inconclusive and another week to wait. It does seem so unfair. You are having a rotten time anyway and then still to have the worry of not knowing.

All the best and hoping for a good result next week.

Love

hi girls

if there any one in the milton keynes area with this problem too.

thanks

liz

Hi Liz,

I’m not in Milton Keynes but it does sound like you have had similar dx to me. I was grade 2, 1.8cm, ductal invasive, no nodes involved and margins after surgery were clear. I am on tamoxifen for 5 years, zoladex for 2 and just 3 of 19 radiotherapy left. I was dx 24th Dec 2007 and am now about to go back to work 1st April so I will definately be thinking of you.
Sorry you had to join us but as you are sure to already know there are some amazing, far wiser than me, ladies in here who will support you.
Good luck with everything. Shonagh xx

Hi Liz,

Well done for getting on with telling people, I dont know about you but found I said the same thing to everyone “its cancer but low grade I’ll be fine” “they’ve caught it early” I found I ended up comforting other people and my Mum just cried every time she looked at me. Neddless to say the minute I got my clearance news it went back to business as usual.
I cant believe its 3 months ago now and obviously not having chemo has helped me but now I have a back to work plan I feel like things can get back to normal (whatever that means now).
I didnt tell that many people at work, just the immediate team I work with and managers but apparently when the collection and get well card went round all the girls were shocked and immediately checked themselves too. I’m the youngest sister of 3 (39) and my sisters both held their breath waiting to see if it was possibly genetic but its hormonal so good news there then. I assume as you are on tamoxifen yours is hormonal too.
I know it feels like you are waiting forever at the minute I was dx 24th Dec operation 9th Jan so had a similar wait to you and me and my hubby went away on the weekend before I went in, turned off the phones and just had a lazy weekend in the lake district.
I was only in one night (the night before the op) and went home the same day of the operation with just parecetomol. It was more uncomfortable than painful. Are you having a SNB at the same time?
Any questions just give me a shout. Good luck with everything. Love Shonagh xx

Hi Shonagh

thanks for chatting sorry i have not got back to you sooner but have been enjoying myself with my husband all weekend, when round and told his mum on saturday as usually gor moaned at for not saying something sooner but it like we both said why have every one thiinking the worse when we did not known ourselves.

like i said to everyone it is low grade and i caught it and yes i am on the tamoxifen as well for 5yrs ( how long have you be put on them for). i have only told a few work colleges about it one of them was pretty shocked as she is only 33. 5 yrs younger than me. off to the hospital this thursady for a health check and have got a busy weekend a head of me one good thing my sister in law is cooking dinner on saturday for all the family. then into hospital on the 1st of april.

we have got a long weekend booked in may at my friends cottage in suffolk so it will be just the two of us and the dogs.

Have made a pledge with my mate when this is all over it is of to the gym again.

speak to you soon.

love liz xxx
We have got a long weekend booked up in may down at my friends cottage in suffolk to look forward to

Hi Liz,

Just a quick one before I go off for my rads (only got 2 of 19 left). Good news to hear your biopsy cameback as low grade. I was 1.8cm grade 2 er+,pr+ HER2 negative, nodes and margins from surgery were clear so I am on 5 years Tamoxifen, 2 years Zoladex and 19 rads.
I will actually be going back to work on the same day as your op, I’m not sure who will be most nervous, you or me.
Really glad to hear you have a nice weekend head planned. My middle sister is doing dinner for everyone on Easter Sunday, I cant believe how fast this has all gone by. My DX was xmas eve and the last time we all got together was Christmas day when me and Hubby did dinner for 12 and now 3 months later its the same 12 people and fingers crossed everything apart from the medication will be done and dusted.
I really wish you all the best. You sound like you are on top of things. The worst thing always seems to be the waiting> Good wishes to you and all yours. I will keep an eye out for you.
Love and Luck Shonagh xx
