Hi Mattsmun,

Yes, it’s quite usual to feel as you do after diagnosis, as it is quite a lot to adjust to, but thankfully, it will now be dealt with. Thank goodness you went for your mammogram.

Feelings do settle down once your treatment plan is confirmed & you know where you’re going with it all.

Loads of us here Had a diagnosis of bc, but are now through treatment & getting on with our lives.

There is lots of support here from those of us who are at your stage you’re at & further down the road.

Do come & chat whenever you need to.

Hi Mattsmum, I sending a hug, because I reckon you need one right now. It’s a scary old world with cancer inhabiting it. Everyone here has been were you are now, so we do understand where you are coming from.  I think you need someone with you to make sure you hear everything that’s said , also write down any questions you want to ask, once the panic goes. Because you will be in panic. A million thoughts will be zooming around, and it’s quite natural. Do not Google, but ask questions on here when you are ready. Best wishes. X

Thank you , i saw breast nurse today , had a little cry and now i feel ready to take on whatever they throw at me .
I must admit these forums have been a god send and all your positivity inspires me x

Hi mattsmum

Just wanted to send you a gentle hug.

I was where you are, a year ago. I’m 50 and was diagnosed with grade 3 lubular BC. Felt just like you… numb. Wandered around for a couple of weeks not knowing what to do with myself. Once your treatment starts, you will start to feel better though because you’re doing something positive about it.

Take one day at a time and then one treatment at a time, otherwise it can all get too much. You can do this.

I  had surgery, chemo and rads. And here I am, out the other side!
