Hi everyone,
just wanted to share a product with you that i’m in love with!
when i had chemo, i made numerous posts about how i could make my rapidly thinning lashes look better.
I recently started using Talika lash extender, its a little bottle of tiny natural fibres that you brush over wet mascara then coat with another thin layer of mascara. its really helped me, it gives you like a false lash effect but without the glue an fear of them falling off! it has even coped with many many tears i’ve had since treatment ended.
you can get it from spaceNK but its out of stock, so i recently got the same thing on ebay (sealed new bottle of course) by Jica. its about £10 but lasts for ages and is really great at filling the gaps and extending. can be a little messy so use sparingly or you end up with bits in your eye - not painful just annoying! i had the jica one some years back from a friend in italy who’s a makeup artist, but had never seen it here before.
anyways, just wanted to share that with you. wouldn’t recommend for during chemo tho, as my eyes were constantly sore and watering and think its best to leave alone.
anyone who reads LOOK mag would’ve seen it there a few months back, but like i said the talika version can’t be found in stock ANYWHERE! i called the company personally to make sure it hadn’t been discontinued for safetly reasons, and they assured me its fine just demand is too great. so the jica one is exactly the same - like i said my make up artist friend had this make years ago.
bye!
Just been on Ebay to buy mine. My eyelashes are on their way back but very stubby right now. Thanks for the tip

What a fab tip peppermintpatty.
I will get onto ebay ASAP, sounds like a good beauty tip even if we don’t lose lashes.
I think mine ar just starting to make an exit. They seem weaker/looser and am just about to have chemo no.4. I noticed my brows looked fairer and then realised they could be thinning.
Think on the bright side, the blond moustache has gone!

ha! yes must agree, i took much comfort during chemo in not having to shave my legs!! always a silver lining so they say…
careful if your eyelashes are still falling tho, but i never thought to try but im sure these little fibre things could also be used with clear mascara on thinning eyebrows too…?not sure, may be a terrible plan but you never know!
Hi peppermintpatty
there is 1 Talika up for grabs on ebay, but doubt I will get it. There are plenty of the jica, a bit cheaper. Are they as good as each other?
I will get some clear mascara and put it on eyebrows, it has to be the same effect.
1 question! They are also selling Talika products for prmoting lash and brow growth. i think wil invest in some of this too. Just wondered if you or knew what they were like.
I doubt there is any point in trying to promote fuller lashes and brows growth during chemo, but likely to want as much growth promotion as poss whem chemo finishes.
Let me know if you know anything else because these products could just be what us girlies need.
regards
Jules
hi Jules,
sorry for the mega late reply!!
dont worry if you dont get talika, i LOVE LOVE LOVE my jica!!!
the more i use it, the more i wonder how i ever lived without it. Its a bit tricky to get the right amount at first, but after a few goes i found that i got it perfect every time - the first couple of attempts i’d use a little too much and get bits on my face, but now it just takes a couple of seconds longer than just mascara, literally just a quick sweep sandwiched between 2 coats of mascara.
i never tried the other growth products, but i know talika is a well respected brand so can’t be too bad??
please let me know if you tried the other priducts and how they were, and also if you found jica helpful. I’m totally sold on the product, use it everyday and hardly made a dent in the little bottle! well worth £10
best of luck with everything x x x
Thanks girls - I’ve been getting desperate at my pathetic specimens of eyelashes, so i will try and get hold of this. It’s so much better when somebody recommends it, than spending loads on random products.
