Great news and not so great!

I am not due to see my BS until next Tuesday to get my path results, as she doesn’t have a clinic til then.
So I thought I’d get a jump on her, and see if my GP was able to tell me anything.

Well the good news is that out of 11 nodes sampled, only ONE had Ca! YEY!
And the next good news was that my ct scan showed no evidence of metastatic disease (there was a tiny nodule in my lung, but theyre not sure about that)

So, the NOT such good news is that it looks like they did not get clear margins, so likely left some in there, and it is a high grade cancer with necrosis.
I’m guessing that means more surgery, possibly mastectomy, but that will be the discussion on Tuesday! I am perfectly happy to go with that if that’s what it takes. I was considering it in the first place. I kinda sorta wish I had not let her persuade me in favour of breast-sparing now.

My son is getting married on the 29th, and I had hoped to be feeling great by then! Not that that matters in the grand scheme of things, but still…

That’s very positive for you as like anybody I am sure your biggest fear is spread. I had much the same 14 years ago 1 node effected and they just took more tissue to get clear margins, chemo for the possible stray cells via node and rads.
Unfortunately I am waiting for biopsy results from a new lump on other side but assume it is another primary.
Anybody any idea how much they can tell from core biopsies ?
Sending love and hugs to you x x
