Gynest Cream

Hi
Been prescibed Gynest cream due to vaginal dryness. I read the leaflet and it states not to use it if you have had breast cancer as it is HRT.Spoken to Cancer nurse who referred me back to the GP to discuss with her. Spoken to GP who says there is nothing to worry about as it is only being used in the short term, but I am still anxious. Has anyone else used this cream, I was diagnosed May 07 and I still taking exemestane tablets.
Thanks
M

I was prescribed this by my GP and it was okayed by my onc. He said the oestrogen is so localised and as long as you use it for just a short time there is no risk whatsoever.

I was prescribed this too - but only after consultation with my breast surgeon and onc who both OKed it. The breast surgeon particularly was very understanding and said yes, it is oestrogen, but localised and such a small risk if it were his wife he’d be happy for her to use it.

Hope this helps

Nina

Hi
thanks for the quick replies, just the confirmation that others have been prescribed the cream has made me feel less anxious…by the way did it make a difference?
Thanks again
