had first mammo Hi,
i am new here but today i had my first mammo since masectomy in september been told i wont get the results for 3 weeks is this normal also i had to be called back in for the nurse to do it again, getting really paronoid. i have also just gone back to work as i felt ok i am 32 but have gone back full time straight away 44 hours and am sooo tired that makes me worried that it has come back am i going mad?

ONLY JUST STARTED USING THIS MYSELF, HOW GREAT IS IT? WAITING ABOUT 3 WEEKS IS REALLY NORMAL, AND BEING CALLED BACK IN IS NORMAL TOO! I WILL BE HAVING MY 3RD MAMMOGRAM NEXT MONTH. THEY HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY HAVE THE BEST PICTURE POSSIBLE YOU WOULD ONLY GET CALLED BACK IF CONSULTANT WASNT HAPPY AND HOW SCARED WOULD YOU BE THEN?
I THINK MAYBE YOU HAVE GONE BACK TO WORK TO SOON BECAUSE WHEN I WENT BACK I COULDNT KEEP MY EYES OPEN . MY BREAST CARE NURSE SAID ITS BECAUSE YOU HAVENT BEEN AS ACTIVE AS USUAL DURING TREATMENT.
TAKE IT SLOWLY AND NO YOUR DEFFO NOT GOING MAD!!!

Hi there, I know I had to wait one week but that was only because it was a private hospital and public can be much longer, I would be more concerned that you are doing too much and those sort of hours would take the wind out of your sails if you never had surgery, perhaps you should try to mind yourself more and work less :slight_smile: the very best of luck too by the way

Every wait is horrid but unfortunatly normal for nhs so dont worry too much.Being tired after treatment is also very common and normal .Maybe you could cut back a bit on your hours at work-ease back a bit more slowly -no medals given for heroism and if you go back full time then work tend to expect you to be 101% fit and trying to prove to them and yourself you will end up on your knees.

thanks i feel a little bit better now i think i might ring my breasr nurse tommorow and ask her if i can find out any sooner, the waiting will do my head in.
I also think i will talk to my boss tommorow and see if i can reduce my hours a bit.
Hopefully i will be able to speak to my nurse tommorow and she will put my mind at rest.
