I was recovering from my MX and SNB quite well. I have been really tired & sore but was doing ok. The surgery did not go as expected really. I already have implants & was supposed to have MX & immediate recon with strattice & new implant to match my other side. When the surgeon operated he said my muscle was that strong that I didnt need the strattice so he did the MX & left my original implant in. He will change this to match my other side later. This means I am now lopsided
which I wasnt expecting. He explained that it was better this way in case I need further treatment. I do understand this but it was upsetting.
Today I noticed some redness above the incision on my breast. I went up to the hospital who said I had an infection ( which I had worked out myself lol). He said hopefully it would clear & I wouldnt lose the implant. This shocked me as I hadnt really considered this might be a possibility. just hoping the penicillin works. They have given me double the dose normally prescribed.
I get my results on 17th July. so heres hoping my infection clears & my results are clear. I am usually such a positive person & was expecting it all to go as planned…hmmm, maybe I shouldnt think like that, then its not a shock when things dont go as planned.
On a positive note, I am recouperating in the gorgeous sunshine & my tan is coming on nicely ![]()
Hope you lovely ladies are enjoying the weather as well

Hello Cath
Hope you are feeling better now! I had a bilat mx last August and had temporary implants. I got a severe infection in my left one and had to have it removed. I just recently had the other implant removed so am now flat chested but I am not rushing for recon. I’ve had 4 surgeries in the last 10 months so had enough now. Who knows what the future holds.
You are so right about not realising what could happen. I never thought it would happen to me either. Just look after yourself and rest and enjoy the sunshine! Also good luck with your results. Hope everything is okay.
