Hair growth after chemo

Hi

I bought some rapidlash a couple of weeks ago. I’m due to start chemo on the 30th septand I have farily woeful eyelashes and brows, I was going to stop during chemo thinking it was a waste of money but ill carry on throughout having heard you’ve done it!

By the way I got it online, and it was about half the price it is in the shops.

Hi,

I’m using the alpecin shampoo and hair tonic and taking perfectil supplements. I had my last chemo on 15th June and I’ve got a full covering of hair. I massage my head regularly to try and help stimulatethe follicles. I’ve had a trim too to get the fluff off my neck and a bit of shape around the ears. I’ve also had a 'shoe shine’of bleach on the tips to brighten it up. The sides and back of my hair seemed to grow back quicker than the top which is still slightly thinner than the rest.

Happy hair growing!

I’m getting worried now 6 wks post chemo and not a single sign of hair growing I’m thinking I will never have hair again as anyone else took this long to start was on 2 lots of chemo cld this be why just worried won’t grow

Hey Laura64,

Hang in there, I was also really worried and its been well over 6 weeks since chemo finished for me, hence the reason for posting on this thread, I think we have to try some of the things mentioned on here before you can say my hairs not coming back and by the looks of it there is a lot of stuff to try out, I’ve got an onc appt. this friday so will ask about this and about taking supps for hair with taking tamoxifen on friday and report back here, so stay tuned.

Love and light

Laura,

I think there might be something in the fact that you had a different chemo. I had Tax and my hair started to grow back whilst I was having that. Maybe have a chat with your BCN? My best friend is a hair dresser and she says the best thing you can do is have a head massage as this gets the blood flowing nicely. I’m not sure if the shampoos and supplements work but I have been completely obsessed about my hair and wanted to try everything I could. Please don’t despair, once it starts to make a reapparence,it will grow quite fast and everywhere. I felt like I was hitting puberty again! Good luck Hunni xxxx

I read of others who’s hair started to grow during their Tax treatment - mine didn’t! I am JUST beginning to get some fluff, and it’s 8.5 weeks since I finished chemo, so hang on in there Lisa. Like you, I was getting worried… Jane
