I had my last chemo five weeks ago and am eager to see hair growth. How long after last chemo does it usually start to grow. Have been ok wearing the wig but am getting impatient now to see my own hair again.
Hi there, I lost my hair through chemo and for me it did grow back quite quickly. I think a lot dependson the type of hair you had ie; fine or thick. Also, I never wore a wig so that may have a bearing too. Regardless of all that,it should grow back 
just be as patient as you can. Good luck!!!
I think it depends on which Chemo drugs you had. Mine started coming back after I finished the FEC and continued to grow through Docetaxol. I also massaged Olive oil into my hair to encourage the growth - you can get a bottle from around £1 from most chemists (not the cooking kind!). You could also use Almond oil if you prefer but the Olive worked well for me. Of course you are coming into a cold part of the year. My chemo finished in Sept but I didn’t take my wig off until April! Everyone is different though and remember the front of your hair is usually the last to come through so don’t panic if you have plenty at the back and sides. A fringe takes a while to grow back too. You might get lots of curls like I did, and a lot of people’s hair comes back very grey too. You just have to be grateful for what you get - a bit of a lucky dip! Hope it appears soon. I finished my chemo in March last year. My hair did grow back but quite slowly. Somebody told me about Nioxin and how I could get a treatment at a local hairdressers. It exfoliates your scalp. I had another treatment 4 weeks later and I had nearly twice as much hair, so impressed. You can get the shampoo, conditioner and a mousse in a starter pack on the internet. I wish someone had told me earlier about it. I use the number 4 as my hair is now dyed as it came back white, and curly. x
I finished my chemo 2 weeks ago (had 3 x FEC and 3 x Docetaxel) and I’ve been using FAST shampoo since starting on the docetaxel. My hair is starting to grow, it’s about 1cm but still very sparse - definitley still need my wig. But Im getting married in July so Im desperate for any other treatments that speed up the hair growth, if anyone knows of anything please let me know. Thanks!
