Hair yesterday, gone today ...

Hello,
well I managed to cope for a bit but eventually the toture of finding hair all over the house made me shave it off. The relief was amazing. I now go ‘commando’. I bought lots of hats - which I wear outdoors for warmth but when indoors I haven’t even attempted scarves or ‘the wig’. My students, colleagues, family and friends have taken to it really well. My OH says the worst for him is when he wakes to see my ‘little’ head on the pillow. My son stokes me every time he walks by and well everyone has been great.
Eyebrows and eye lashes are still in place - for now. The only annoying thing is I still have to shave my legs. Is there no advantage to any part of this treatment! LOL

I scissored the few longer patches down to an inch or less last night and put an electric razor over it all this morning. It’s suede head rather than skin head, but it looks better than the patches.

I remember finding hair everywhere and the huge relief of getting head shaved just before FEC2. Have been surprised at hair slowly growing since then though - just had FEC5 and have quite a lot of black and grey fluff - thought it wouldnd’t grow again til chemo finished. Not much elsewhere, though interestingly have hung on to one and a half eyebrows. Luckily wig covers these [prefer the wig - don’t like the second glances when wearing scarves] BB

Since my OH shaved my head two days before FEC2, it’s been growing back! Now a week post FEC3, and waiting for TAX to undo all the growth! Definitely very patchy all over, not exactly luxuriant stubble, but still, has grown a couple of mm in last month, which I really hadn’t expected. Still have all brows and lashes…and leg hair, armpit hair (though much decreased) and v.v. sparse lady garden, though at least that has vanished around bikini line, saving one job for now!

Hi triphazard. Mine is the same, I am a week post FEC3 too - is it true that TAX will undo all this growth? Here I was thinking it might start growing properly soon after FEC. Ho hum, joys of chemoland!

Well… you never know! I have heard people say that their hair started growing once they switched to TAX, so it’s not impossible… but TAX is another one that supposedly causes hair loss… so I’m not getting too ‘attached’ to my patchy stubble yet!!! If I could just hang on to my eye furniture… but am on look out for good pair of dark glasses that will cover brow loss too, just in case!!
