Hi Ladies,
To those of you with no hair this probably sounds rather vain but having just completed 6 x FEC and having managed to hang on to some of my hair i would like to try and find a hairdresser who can give me a gentil trim. Does anyone know of a hairdresser experienced in working with ladies who have undergone chemo? I’m in the South East of England but could probably make it up to london.
cheers
caroline
Caroline,
Well done for having completde all your 6 FEC. I had my 1st FEC last wed and will have another chemo on 17th Oct. Did you wear the cooling cap?
Hi Caroline,
where abouts are you? I live in Hampshire and use a wonderful lady who has suffered hairloss herself, so she is really understanding.
Let me know,
Tracy xx
Boo - you are back! welcome back, lovely to see you again. How are you?
hugs
Hi ladies,
Thanks for your comments - in the end i went back to my ‘old’ hairdresser who gave me a trim (she wanted to do the full blow wave bit but i was afraid it might be too soon ) . Unfortunatly it is still very grey but think I’ll just have to accept that for now.
sarig the cool cap really worked well for me - so persever if you can bear it - lots of hair did come out after FEC no 2 - huge great clumps on the hairbrush and the scalp was very tender but it seemed to settle down after that just thinning quite a lot on the crown. i got by with a base ball hat TBH I don’t think i could have stood a bandanna or wig as the scalp was very tender and itchy. Hope it works for you
cheers
caroline
Quisie,
I think you’re getting ‘bettyboo’ confused with ‘babyboo’. Unfortunately still no word from babyboo, I hope she’s ok!
No offence meant Tracy! xx

Hi again Kelly - don’t worry, none taken!!!
How the devil are you??? Haven’t been on much as just gone onto Xeloda. Feeling a bit washed out but can’t complain.
You mut be near your last chemo - isn’t it mid Oct??
When do you plan to go back to work? I am hoping to be back mid-Jan, we will see. Keep in touch, xx
Caroline - I also did the cold cap, it worked for me in the same way - I have got a very thin crown but to look at me face on you can’t tell - must remember not to bow my head!!!
Must admit it was hard going and by the fourth one I was ready to give in but it is worth ha ngi n in there!!!
Sending lol to everyone,
Tracy xx
oh puddles Princess, thank you - my brain is really getting muddled these days - so thanks . hope babyboo is ok and back with us soon
Hi Tracy,
I’m glad no offence was taken! I’m v.g ta, had my final day 1 CMF yesterday then going for my final day 8 next weds (bloods permitting of course!). I must admit I’m so excited about reaching that milestone and am already anticipating that next weds will be an emotional day!!
I am also planning to go back to work mid-jan, on a phased return. They’ve basically said I can do as much or as little as I like which is great. I popped into work for a brew on Fri after I’d been for my monthly med centre appt. It was lovely to see everyone, even to hear the same old moans and groans!! They can’t wait to have me back bless 'em. I always feel a bit of a fraud when I go in as its right at the end of a chemo cycle so I always look and feel reasonably ok!!
Take care of yourself mate and be sure to keep in touch,
Kelly
