I have recently started a support group called STARS specifically for younger woman. We would love to have some new members so if you fancy getting in touch with other woman who may know how you feel and meet for lovely lunches too, get in touch.
We are mainly from Waterlooville, Portsmouth and the Fareham area and in our 30’s but there is no limit to where or how old you are!!

That would be good for me as live just west of fareham and I’m usually a lady that lunches!!! The question would be am I too old? Since I had my children late - they’re now only 8 and 11, I tend to move in younger circles and have younger friends but I am too old now for this forum really as I’m 46 but eveyone says I don’t look it!! I don’t mind being the eldest it’s just how you feel as a group and what sort of ages you are as to whether I would fit in. The other problem with me is that I have advanced cancer so may frighten people with my quick prrogression from diagnosis in 2005 to developing spread in november 2005.
Let me know what you think. I am honestly not offended if I’m too old or that you don’t want advanced cancer. Howver, saying that, I’ve lived a very busy life since my secondary diagnosis and usually look well so maybe handy for others to see there is life after a secondary notice.

PS just read my age would not be a problem, It’s my poor diagnosis that makes me hesitant as it can be very scary for people to meet someone with very advanced cancer even when they look well.

Just read your message, if you’re a lady that lunches then you sound perfect for the group!!
I am trying to arrange a meeting in August, perhaps on a Saturday. Would that be convenient to you? What would be the best way to keep in touch, via the forums or are you happy to exchange mobile numbers?
I started the group last year as I felt there was a ‘gap in the market’. There are 2 other groups in the area but by their own admission their members are a lot older.
Its quite a small group at the minute but Its been a positive experience.
