Hi everyone
I’ve recently had an infection around my implant and unfortunately had to have it removed. I had radiotherapy 5 yrs ago and mastectomy last year due to local reoccurrence. I tired skin a expander and implant as I didn’t want other options due to my job, I’m a jeweller and didn’t want to loose strength in my shoulder. Anyway had the implant put in December and got this infection beginning of February, I had a hard time with the skin expander due to radiotherapy and my skin mad muscle have responded really weird since I’ve had the implant out. My skin looks burnt and dry and the whole area is rock hard and lumpy. I’m wondering if this is the aftermath of the infection or is it going to stay this hard now?
Has anyone else had this happen and if so has it got softer over time?
Also because I’d had the skin expanded the whole area has folds of skin rather than flat and I was wondering if this might flatten out over time?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks ladies
Xx
