Has any1 dyed their hair soon after CARBOPLATIN Chemo?

Hi there
Just a query really. Im tempted to have a colour done on my hair and maybe a few highlights too now its grown a little. I had my last carboplatin late may and my hair didnt change- no loss/ thinning etc.So I figure it would probably be fine to colour it? Any advice on this?
If not, I’ll have a go with the ‘safe’ dyes Ive heard about in holland and barratt. Anyone got experience of those? Im mid-dark brown naturally but would like to do it reddish if poss…
Any advice/ experience welcome!

Hi Gingerbud,

Glad to hear you have completed your Carboplatin. I’ve just checked my dates and I had the last Carbo/Gem on 5th Jan followed by Gemcitabine only on 12th Jan, and had my hair professionally coloured on 18th Feb with no problems at all. I’ve since home coloured it 3 times (courtesy of very helpful OH - we have an agreement: I clipper his hair so long as he colours mine!), and my hair has continued to improve in thickness. My first professional colour was a gentle one, done at Toni and Guy where they knew all about my chemotherapy, but the home colours since then have just been standard, off the shelf grey-cover permanent dyes.

thanks for your reply. So glad you’ve had no hair probs after the carbo. I’ve had a chat with a hairdresser I know today + she thinks I’ll be fine. In fact, I asked her about extensions + she thinks it’s long enough!! So I’ve decided to treat myself as I’m off to Ibiza for a mad wkend with a friend next wk. I’m also going away with hubby + our little boy in a few wks, + were goin to a weddin etc. Apparently they can colur it once extensions in so might do that next wk…!

Hope you enjoy your hols! What’s this about an all-in-one suit, Terri mentions? It’s not a Morph suit is it?!
BTW, anyone, what are they FOR? Why is the face covered up? !!! Anyway, all the best,
