I had routine blood pressure check on Monday and it was a high reading so went back to today and it has gone from 140/85 in September when I had op to 175/90 today - I have been on Tamoxifen since 24 September 2010 - nothing else has changed - except I am doing aquafit again and drinking less alcohol - so my question is has anyone else found that Tamoxifen has incresed their blood pressure?
hi,
My BP went quite high after my op and being put on tamoxifen. I dont know if it was the tamoxifen or the stress of dealing with BC, it went so high i was having regular BP checks everymonth. it took about 18 month to 2 years to get back to a normal level, and 3 half years down the line it is fine.hope this helps a little.

Hi
A couple of years before I was diagnosed with bc I started going through the menopause. I started getting severe anxiety attacks out of the blue and my blood pressure would rise. At one stage it was 200/100 but I had never had high bp up until then. I took a low dose of medication to keep a lid on my bp for the times it went high. As my menopausal symptoms started to get better my bp problems started to ease too.
After my diagnosis I took Tamoxifen for a few months and the anxiety and high bp came back with a vengeance. Eventually my consultant told me to come off the Tamoxifen.
Tamoxifen gives you menopausal symptoms and for me anxiety and high bp are menopausal symptoms.
I hope that helps.
