Good to hear from you. I think I sent you a PM asking after you, as I hadn’t seen you on here for a while. I am glad you are managing to get through the chemo. Good luck with the next lot. When will you finish?
My rads start on 8th December and I had the planning last week. It continues between Christmas and New Year and I finish on 6th Jan, if I remember correctly.
How are you getting on with the wigs? I did laugh about you having to put a “W/B” note on the front door. Is hubby still sleeping with the dogs?!
I am doing ok on the Letrizole. So far, the side effects don’t seem any worse than the ones I have been getting after stopping HRT abruptly in August. I have had the odd wrist twinge. I still get tingly legs and I have disturbed nights and the odd hot flush, but not too bad. Mind you, I have only been on them for 3 weeks. Every now and then, I feel I just have to go for a walk, as my legs tingle so much, it makes me feel a bit sick. I really don’t know what that is, but I did read that low dopamine levels can cause “restless legs’ syndrome” and I wonder if it is due to poor sleep. Still, minor things compared with what you are going through!
Hi Ann - Am doing fine thankyou. Have been VERY lucky so far, no sickness or nausea. Have horrible taste in mouth and my mouth gets very sore, but it hasn’t stopped me eating! Have been eating ice lollies to sooth my mouth and I don’t usually eat them. My bad boob is quite painful and sore at the moment, especially the scar tissue around the scars, but the BCN tells me that can happen with the chemo as the drugs attack the weakened tissue. Have massage to do to help lymodema drainage in an attempt to stop the slight swelling progressing so that keeps me occupied. Good luck with your rads , I will be due my second chemo on the 9th so will be thinking of you.
Marlix
Hi girls,
Sounds like we are due something or other around the same time in December. I have my next chemo that same week don’t have an appt yet as I have to change hosps and go to Guildford. Think its to do with funding but a bit of a pain.
Marli, think we are together on 1st chemo thread, sounds like you are not doing too badly. I never got a sore mouth (yet) and can’t really complain too much compared to some of the girls there.
Ann, I will have two more chemos after Xmas before going on to rads, but should all be finished by the end of February. YAY can’t wait, what I will do with myself?
Take care love to you both,
Jane xx
Jane - Yes, it will be strange to be finished, whenever that is. It takes over your life completely, doesn’t it? Where were you before having to go to Guildford? Redhill, maybe?
