Hi,
I have been diagnosed with grade one papillary cancer and wondered if there was anyone out there to chat to? It is apparently rare. I am currently waiting for surgery on 3rd (wide local excision and some lymph nodes out) Sept. My bone scans and ultra sound of abdomen were clear, so that’s good. I was curious about radiotherapy and tamoxifen which I start after the surgery. It is the summer hols now (I am a teacher) and I am off to Canada on Tuesday with the surgery immediately after I come back. They said a WLE may be a couple of nights in hospital. ANy experiences? I really need to get back to work!

Breast Cancer Care
Hi Cee,
I had some discomfort, a sense of a hot patch on my back and an ache, a small lump about 2 cm to the right of my nipple and after a couple of weeks, blood from a single duct. All scans initially suggested fibroademoma, then core biopsy showed a papillary lesion but they didn’t diagnose the cancer for 2 weeks after the lump was removed. The previous tests showed a papillary lesion, but as sometimes (rarely) these are malignant, they usually take them out to be on the safe side.
Good luck
Ruth x
