Hi all

I had WLE with SNB in june and have just had re excision last week. I have noticed today that I can hear the fluid “sloshing” around in my breast, is this normal? I didnt experience thisafter first op.

Hi Helen
It sounds like seroma which is fluid you get from wounds, Very normal. It happened to me after my mastectomy and the sloshing noise is very startling. Phone youre breast nurse first thing in the morning for reassurance.

Thankyou, it is a strange sensation. After first op breast was swollen & hard so they removed some fluid although I hadnt heard it. this time its not swollen just noisy! lol.

Hi it happened to me after WLE, scared me half to death, my husband and i thought one of our boys had put a hot water bottle in the bed and spent half an hour searching for it no joke!!! great party trick though isnt it!!!

Lol thats funny! Did you have to go get fluid removed? I was hoping to avoid it this time. When I had it removed after last op it made a huge inward dent that wasnt there while full of fluid. I guess I’m worried its going to be even worse because surgeon said he had to take lot more tissue than expected, that itself is worrying cos margins were clear first time he only wanted to take more because he’d only took 2mm at top of lump instead of the 10mm he wanted all the way round.
Back to waiting for results again!!!
